KEIR CUTLER presents
TEACHING AS YOU LIKE IT
Written and performed by Keir Cutler
Directed by TJ Dawe
www.keircutler.com

Teaching As You Like It is the third play in Keir Cutler’s “Teaching Shakespeare Trilogy”, Teaching Shakespeare (Wildside Festival 2000), Teaching Detroit (Wildside Festival 2002). In Teaching As You Like It, the inept Shakespearean, Dr. Keir, sinks to a new low, high school substitute teaching, and is besieged by rumours he’s erotically involved with a student.  Shakespeare’s romantic comedy As You Like It juxtaposed with
a twisted modern day liaison.

Teaching As You Like It, directed by fringe superstar TJ Dawe, premiered at the 2006 Montreal Fringe Festival, and has played seven Canadian cities.

“Cutler's masterful display is something to see.” –Alan Kellogg, The Edmonton Journal
“A tight script. A riveting performance." – Amy Barratt, Montreal Mirror
“Pure comedy with a note of seriousness -- not to mention an ending that will give you chills.”- Stephanie Classen, the Saskatoon StarPhoenix www.keircutler.com

RABBIT IN A HAT PRODUCTIONS presents
THE CYCLOPS
Written, Directed and Composed by Paul Van Dyck

By trading one of his eyes with a witch for the ability to see the future, Ballor soon discovers he’s been tricked, as the only future he can see is that of his own death.

Despondent and forlorn, this “Cyclops” joins a traveling freak show and enters a world of bearded ladies, fortunetellers, and maniacal clowns. But beneath this bleak environment lies an even darker existence… the cold reality of institutionalized madness.

Starring Centaur Theatre veterans Neil Napier [The Shape of Things, Condoville], Paul Van Dyck [Romeo & Juliet, Kabarett: A Cheerical (Wildside 2005)], and singer/performers Tamara Brown [lead singer of Spellbound] and Alison Louder [Heaven, Into the Woods], along with three live musicians under the direction of Spanky Horowitz.

This surreal musical odyssey weaves between fantasy and reality, telling the tragic tale of one “monster’s” struggle to become human all for the love of a very hairy girl.

THE Gesamtkunstwerk Project presents
"...and stockings for the ladies"
By Attila Clemann
Directed by Zach Fraser

Inspired by the true story of Squadron Leader Ted Aplin and his assistant Stanley Winfield, "...and stockings for the ladies" is a powerful look at post war Germany and recovery from war.  During a tour of duty that began after VE Day Ted Aplin and Stanley Winfield were stationed not far from the Bergen Belsen Concentration camp.  Despite specific orders from RCAF officers to stay away from the camp the two became deeply involved in assisting the rehabilitation of the Jewish refugees in particular the dozens of orphans left in wake of the Nazi regime.  An ad hoc mail system was established and much needed school supplies, clothing and food was shuttled from Canada and England to Bergen Belsen. Ted Aplin helped reconnect a number of families in Canada with lost relatives in Germany and all of this while facing fierce condemnation from his superiors.  This solo performance brings to life Ted's letters home, the voices of survivors he met and numerous others all with a wink and a charm that only Ted could embody.

"...a beautifully crafted play...a splendid production... A not-to-be-missed show."
NNNNN Jon Kaplan, Now Magazine, Toronto

"...exemplary work by both McMurtry-Howlett and writer Attila Clemann."
***** Eliza Northwood, Eye Weekly, Toronto

"This is hands down one of the finest productions I've seen.  Ever!"
Anne Marie Sanders, Downstairs Cabaret Theatre, Rochester, New York.
